What that bench takes
A cracked, dim, flickering, or black panel is checked, and the screen is changed when the panel is the fault. A pack that swells, dies early, or will not hold a charge is changed. Keys that stick, repeat, or stay dead, and a spill across the key mat, are a keyboard job. A drive that has turned slow or is failing is changed for an SSD or another drive. Heat in the palm rest, a fan that will not quiet down, or a shutdown with no warning is followed to the fan and the heat sink. Pop-ups and files you cannot open are handled by taking malware off and cleaning the system.
Why the order helps
You hear the fault before money changes hands. A dim screen is not written up as a new battery, and a hot palm rest is not written up as a new drive. The quote names the job that matches the machine you brought. That is the benefit of stopping at the counter first.
