A black screen is checked first
A display that stays black while the fans still run can be the panel, a cable, or the board. The counter checks which of those it is before a screen is fitted. A cracked, dim, or flickering panel is changed when the panel itself is the fault. Batteries that swell or stop taking a charge, keys that stick or stay dead, and a spill on the mat are separate. So is an SSD or a new drive for a slow or failing disk, a fan and heat sink for overheating, and a malware clean for pop-ups and locked files.
Why the check comes before the part
The benefit is that a black screen is not automatically a new panel. You hear what the bench found, and you hear the quote, before any paid work. A wrong part never has to come back out.
