Ask which part is going in
A black, cracked, or dim panel is replaced only when the panel is the fault. A swollen pack, or one that dies halfway through the morning, is replaced when the battery is the fault. Dead keys, keys that repeat, and a wet key mat are a keyboard job. An SSD or a new drive goes in when the old disk is slow or failing. The fan and heat sink are the path for a loud fan or a palm rest that burns. Pop-ups and locked files are cleared by removing malware and cleaning the system.
Why you ask first
The benefit is a named part, not a surprise inside the case. You can ask which screen, battery, keyboard, or drive will be fitted before that work starts. If the job is a clean rather than a part, the quote says that too.
