The brick and the pack are not the same part
A charger is replaced when the charger is the fault. A battery that has swollen or stopped taking a charge is a different part. They test which one failed before the quote. Screens, keyboards, an SSD or a new hard disk, the fan and heat sink, and a malware clean are still done when those are the faults.
